Nobody Has The Right To Suspend Senator Wakili In APC, Says Ward/LG Chairmen And State House Member

A member of Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Lere/Bula Alhaji Aminu Tukur, All Progressive Congress (APC) ward and local government chairmen, Mr. Ishaku Simon and Alhaji Korau Bununu have declared that nobody in the party has the right to suspend Senator Ali Wakili from APC in Bauchi State.

Speaking separately newsmen, yesterday in a peaceful rally in Bununu headquarters of Tafawa Balewa LGA to disassociated themselves from an allegation that the party leadership have suspended Senator Wakili from the party, Mr. Simon said that Wakili remain intact and bonafide member of the party.

“As you can see, the local government party chairman is here, the entire executive from ward level to local government level are here including myself the ward chairmen APC Lere North and we are not aware of his suspension and we are not party to it, so nobody can suspend our son from the party without our consent,” he fumed.

Reacting to the suspension letter dated January 8th, 2017 addressed to the former Local Government party chairman, Mijinyawa Hardo and signed by Markus Silas stated that they have decided to suspend the Senator from the party, Simon said that he is the ward Chairman and have no knowledge of the suspension‎ and that such letter emanated without their consent and is baseless.

He said, those saying Senator Wakili has been suspended from the party are not their members but non card carrying members of APC because they are the executive and they know their supporters.

He further explained that those who suspended Senator Wakili are the enemies of APC and the people of the Tafawa Balewa but God has exposed their inferior motive about the land.

In his response, Chairman APC Tafawa Balewa Local Government Alhaji Korau Bununu accused Alhaji Mijinya Hardo for creating disunity among party members in Tafawa Balewa Local Government saying he is on vengeance mission because he was sacked recently as the Party Chairman in Tafawa Balewa.

“Hardo is our former party chairman in Tafawa Balewa, but he was later sacked from his position because of his anti-party conduct and divide and rule syndrome that compel them good people of the area to reject and eject him as the party leader”.

He cannot send anybody out of the party without the consent all the executive and support from registered members. “That is not possible in APC, meanwhile he is no more a party leader”. He said.

“We have written a letter to the state APC office in Bauchi and the National headquarters in Abuja complaining about nonparty members and some a grieved members trying to cause disunity among members. We are waiting patiently for their resolutions, opinion and decision on the subject matter. But Wakili is still in APC nobody can suspend him without us”.

He alleged that Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar is the one sponsoring nonparty members to create disunity among peaceful people of Tafawa Balewa local government.

Also speaking, Honorable Aminu Tukur said that the issue of suspending someone like Wakili from the party is laughable because they are the foundational members of APC in Nigeria.

When contacted for his comment, Mijinyawa said that ‘It has come to our notice that senator Ali Wakili has been organising several political meetings in his house and other places outside the party office with a view to causing fractionalisation within the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Lere North Ward and Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi State”, he said.
