The Plateau State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party ( NNPP), Comrade Tokji J.Mandin has disclosed that the absence of wards and Chairmanship congresses in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress ( APC) is creating an easy ride to NNPP landslide victory in the forthcoming LGs elections in the State.
Mandin stated this in an exclusive interview with media practitioners in Jos on Thursday.
He said the NNPP is prepared for the forthcoming LGs elections in Plateau State as PLASIEC has done its job and left for the political parties to organize themselves and produce flag bearers for the contest.
Tokji explained further that for them in NNPP we are looking forward to seeing credible exercise but in some states in Nigeria the ruling party always hijacks the exercise based on the assurance given to them by the governor Caleb Mutfwang and PLASIEC Chairman, Cishak Longji, they continued to hope that victory is on pipeline.
According to him, the NNPP has 17 Chairmanship Aspirants who picked the nomination forms to contest based on 325 wards of which the party now has 250 wards participating in the electioneering processes of producing leaders.
Tokji stressed that they don’t have any challenges in the state, and under his stewardship, they have achieved a lot because the NNPP has been there for over 21 years as a political party but when Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso came in there were a lot of changes.
He said, we now have supporters across the 17 LGAs here in Plateau State, and when the leader of the party Alh.Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso went around the 3 geopolitical zones of the state, Northern, central, and southern geopolitical zones respectively, he saw overwhelming supporters.
He assured me that with the overwhelming support given to their national leader, we are prepared to win the council election.
Tokji Mandin reiterated that 25 of the PDP and APC in the state the state is still underdeveloped and the people are yet to benefit from the dividends of democracy the ruling party and the APC unfortunately are the problem in Nigeria.
He noted that the state has enough mineral deposits, and tourism, and we are counted amongst the poor vulnerable people because the leaders always capitalized to be waiting for subvention from the federation allocation.
We need to change the pattern of the approach to addressing poverty and inflation rates by ensuring that the state grows beyond dependency.
