Nigerian Coalition Of Pastors Condemns Endless Sit At Home

The Nigerian Coalition of Pastors for Good Leadership has condemned the endless sit at home embarked upon by Igbos in the South East. They vowed to engage all relevant stakeholders to seek other means of engaging government in grievances without disrupting the system..

This was stated in Enugu on Sunday during the stakeholders parley between the Pastors and various Christian youth groups in New Haven.

Speaking at the event, the Enugu State Coordinator of Nigerian Coalition of Pastors for Good Governance NCPGL, Rev Obinna Akukwe said that in the coming weeks it will set up a task force to persuade those behind the endless sit at home to give South East a breather.

According to him “South East economy is losing billions every Monday due to a sit at home which makes no economic sense. I came back from Kano the other day, they are laughing at us that we sit down every Monday in laziness and expect them to vote Peter Ob as President.

“Northern traders have already boycotted our markets and majority prefers the long Lagos route or passes through Akwa Ibom to Port Harcourt. The volume of trade in Onitsha Main Market is decreasing and our youth are getting used to a three day holiday staring from Saturday till Monday”

He said that the Coalition of Pastors will begin engaging relevant stakeholders to see how to resolve the supremacy crisis between the DoS branch of IPOB led by MAZI Chika Edozien and the Auto-Pilot Branch led by Mazi Simon Ekpa which is responsible for the endless Sit at Home. He expressed high hopes that the 2023 elections in the South East will not be disrupted and said that NCPGL is working with Igbo leaders, secessionists and youth groups to ensure hitch free elections and census.

In furtherance of the objective, the Deputy State Coordinator of the NLPGL, . Apostle N. Nkwazema was tasked to lead a three day prayer session with other aligned pastors to ensure that the Christmas period in the South East does not witness bloodshed by secessionists, military, kidnappers, bandits, and herdsmen and ensure that South East enters 2023 with peace.

The Nigerian Coalition of Pastors for Good Governance is expecting the visit of the South East Zonal Coordinator, Bishop Vester E Vester as guest during the prayer conference.
