Nigeria Is Bleeding For Lack Of Political Will To Implement Commission Findings- Dauda Busa-Buji

An Afripeace Facilitator Mr Dauda Busa-Buji has challenged Nigeria government for a lack of political will in addressing political turmoils and implementing many commissions of inquiry into ethno-religious crises by stopping incessant attacks and displacement of the rural populace.
He said, it has become obvious that both federal and state governments have failed in their primary responsibilities of safeguarding the lives and properties of Nigerians.
Speaking at the two-day awareness campaign on conflict management sponsored by Afripeace, Dauda Busa-Buji charged the government at all levels to safeguard the lives and properties of vulnerable children and women.
He lamented that the crisis broke out in Plateau State between 2001 and 2011, and since then government has lacked the political will to address the network of insecurity bedevilling the state.
According to him, Nigeria’s security is branded as one of the best military formation networks in the world, but here, if someone sees a high rate of kidnapping, banditry, and communal clashes, it shows clearly that either they are compromising or why would the decimal insecurity issues continue.
Dauda explained further that unless the perpetrators of these dastardly acts are brought to book, no amount of effort shall yield any impact in resolving the conflict.
He urged the participants to use the knowledge acquired from the two-day training in promoting harmonious relationships with one another across tribes and religious divides.
Dauda disclosed that the training is aimed at educating the participants to learn to cohabit peacefully with one another and intervene also by interacting with people to prevent breakdown of law and order.
He stated that despite all the relevant agencies deployed to end insecurity in the country and it failed, the Nigerian government should resolve to treat these criminal elements with the death penalty.
Busa-Buji disclosed that the training is to harness the business potential of teamwork in promoting peaceful coexistence amongst the diverse ethnic groups’ residents in the state and Nigeria through synergy between the people and government.
Meanwhile, another facilitator Mr Rossi Paul harps on a cordial working relationship with stakeholders in promoting a harmonious relationship.
He admonished that the participants should pass the training acquired to the family and friends in society, where he described the women as the most powerful mediators in conflict management.
Paul stressed that the kinds of leaders in Africa should give priority to humanity first, instead of values.
