***Say’s Murderer Should be Jailed for Life or Die by Hanging.
A reputable Civil Rights Organization in Nigeria, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) blow hot and demanded in accordance with the Rule of Law and Rule of almighty God on it is expecting Report of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Panel on a Human Rights Abuses by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and it’s Reform.
Based on a Public Hearing Organized across the Six State making up the South West Zone in 2018, in a Notice Marked NHRC/PSARS/2018/OG/4 Signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Anthony Okechukwu Ojukwu issued on Thursday 1st of November, 2018.
In a Press Statement issued and signed on Saturday by the Executive Chairman of the Group, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman which made available to the journalist on its expectation in the NHRC Report of Public Hearing, which lasted for the complete Five Days within Tuesday 13th and Saturday 17th of November, 2018 at the Premises of the Lagos State High Court Ikeja, which properly and absolutely involved one Police Officer Inspector SANNI GODWIN OGEDENGBE of Phone Number (08063213041 & 08063153324) as the one of the Principal Defendant on the Petition written against him by CHRSJ on behalf of Mr. Adetiba Sunday, Dated on Wednesday 28th, June 2017.
CHRSJ Boss Commenting further that, Apart from Adetiba Sunday’s matter, there was another Petition against the same Inspector Ogedengbe, which emanated from one Mrs. Jumoke Zaid on behalf of his Late Son (Mr. Sharkoor Zaid) with Notice Marked NHRC/P.SARS/2018/LA/7 (Swz/18/2818) on Alleged Enforced Disappearance as a Subject Matter in the NHRC Case List, but Latter discovered that the victim (Late Sharkoor Zaid) was allegedly Shot to Death in the Police CELL since 2015 by the same Police Officer S. G. OGEDENGBE, when he (Ogedengbe) was a Sergeant and Investigative Police Officer (IPO) to Late Zharkoor’s Matter at the Lagos State Police Command, SARS Department, Ikeja Nigeria.
In another Document of evidence used against Officer Ogedengbe before the Panel by the another Petitioner was tagged as Police Charge Sheet with Charge No:CR/MI8C/H/18/17/2015 in the Case of Commissioner of Police Vs. Nurudeen Ayinla 23years, Rasheed Saka 22years, Hammed Sheu 26Years, Yusuf Sanni 25Years, Sadiq Odelowo 35Years, Wasiu Kasumu 28Years and Hammed Yahaya 28Years, who were illegally Arrested on 17th Day of April, 2015 and Unlawfully Detained at the Lagos SARS Police Cell for Complete Two Months, Nine Days, before they were Charged to the Ikeja Magistrate Court (8) on 26th June, 2015, before Chief Magistrate Miss. A. R. Onilogbo, which one Inspector Roman Unugba acted as a Court Prosecutor and the same Ogedengbe was the IPO of that illegal Arrest and Unlawful Detainees, the Group stated.
An alleged Killer Police Officer was also Slammed in a Court locomotive litigation, in the Suit No: ID/1525MB/17, by one Barrister O. A. Azees of Office of Public Defender, located at 2/8, Iyun Road, off Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere Lagos on behalf of Late Zharkoor and his family, the said litigation made an alleged trigger happy Inspector Ogedengbe worked his transfer to Magbon Federal SARS in Abeokuta up till this moment of filling the News Story, the Group revealed.
The Adetiba Sunday further avert before the Panel that apart from the threat to Kill him, he was shot in his leg and other Unwarranted maltreatment melted out in the hand of Ogedengbe which, the Defendant still used his wife (Mrs. KARUNWI Rasidat) GTB Bank Account Number 0130693409 to extort different Victims that were in the CELL, even up till the day of his appearance in the panel and it was explicitly established before the Commission, which everybody in the Court witnessed and testified to, and the Respondent accepted without much argument.
In as much that the Conventional Statement had been established before the Panel and the Defendant and his Defense team witnessed it and admitted before the Commission without any further Counter motion to all this Phenomenon Fact, that Adetiba Sunday was illegally Arrested, detained Unlawfully, even more than the Constitutional Stipulated Period and Shot in his leg at Ogijo Police Station before taken to Magbon Federal SARS on Thursday 22nd, June 2017.
The Defendant further accepted that Late Sharkoor Zaid was gruesomely murdered by him in 2015 at the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, which Adetiba’s Wife (Mrs. Awoleru Adejoke Adetiba) was harassed and threatened with her three Months Pregnant and Mother of Late Sharkoor (Mrs. Jumoke) was put into life Psychiatric Problem.
In view of this, CHRSJ Call for an Immediate, impartial punitive disciplinary action of Capital Punishment on the expectation of NHRC Report, against Inspector Ogedengbe, who supposed to be an epitome of Rule of Law and enviable virtues, has instead ignominiously proven to be a disgrace to the Nigeria Police Force, through his brazen display of lawlessness and effrontery in the contravening all the Laws of Federation including Police Act and Force Order Number (237). “The Group Concluded”.
