Newly sworn-in Gov Agbu solicits TY Danjuma Support

The newly sworn-in Governor of Taraba State, Kefas Agbu, has assured the residents of the state that he will lead by example to make them proud, and also solicited the support of retired General TY Danjuma to succeed.

Mr Kefas stated this on Monday, after his inauguration as the fourth elected governor of Taraba State at the Jolly Nyame stadium Jalingo.

He thanked the people for finding him worthy to lead them, just as he praised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for giving him the platform.

“I feel humbled by the trust that you the people have placed in me by coming out en mass to vote for me.”

Mr. Kefas, a retired Lt. Colonel and the immediate past chairman of PDP, particularly praised Theophilus Danjuma for his unwavering support and commitment to ensuring that he succeeds in life and also solicited his support in governing the state.

“I will like to specifically acknowledge our dear father and elder -statesman  General Theophilus Danjuma, you have not been just a father but a mentor and role model to me.” He said

“I hope you will keep your door open to my administration as your wisdom and guidance are indispensable for collective success.”

Agbu also promised to run an all-inclusive governance that would make Taraba a land where prosperity, abundance, unity, justice, and equity will thrive.

“My passion for Taraba is driven by a deep commitment to social justice, welfare, and equity as such one of my key priorities will be to address specifically, challenges faced by our youths, women, and people living with a disability.”

“My administration will focus on addressing unemployment, illiteracy, gender marginalisation, and lack of access to resources by creating an enabling environment for all people to prosper.

Mr. Agbu said. “While we acknowledged that the task ahead is enormous and challenging, the onus we faced are not unsurmountable, I am committed to leading with vision, integrity, transparency, and courage by forcing the culture of trust and ethics.”

“By the special grace of God I will lead by example and demonstrate my commitment to the wellbeing of all the people by actively implementing policies and programmes that are in line with my vision for purpose and passion for Taraba.” He said.

The inauguration was attended by TY Danjuma, the outgoing governor, Ishaku, his Deputy Haruna Manu.

Other dignitaries at the event include; former governor Jolly Nyame, and political and religious leaders.

The oath was administered by the acting Chief Judge of Taraba State, Joel Agya.
