No fewer than 100 unemployed youth in Jigawa, state including women and men have undergone a three-month training on various agricultural practices organized by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in the state.
This was disclosed by NDE Coordinators in the state, Malam Abubakar Jamo, during an interview with our correspondent in Dutse.
Muhammad jamo said the exercise was being conducted under the directorate’s Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) of the Rural Employment Promotion (REP) Department.
He explained that the three months training, which commenced on Sept. 10, consist of a two-week theoretical session and 10-weeks attachment in well-established farms across the state.
The coordinator added the trainees had already undergone the two-week theoretical training, which ended on Sept. 23.
According to him, the beneficiaries would be trained on crops farming, poultry animal farming.
“The trainees will now be attached to various well-established farms in the state in order to be trained for 10 months.
“It the directorate hope that at the end of the exercise, the participants will be self-employed, as well as employers of labour,” Jamo has said.
