NDE Decried Absent Of Employers To Access GIS In Plateau State By Yakubu Ventim

The state director of National Directorate of Employment(NDE) Mrs Joyce Yarnap has decried that for citizens  of plateau to benefit from 50,000 graduates internship scheme (GIS) there is  need for more employers to participate.

Speaking while identifying partnering firms and interns in the state at  the leadership institutes Dandaura by the   federal ministry of finance Graduate internship scheme swnsitization awareness workshop in Plateau state.

Yarnap said,the graduates are trooping to register but there’s no single employer we only pray that after this awareness and campaign many firms will take advantage to come and register .

She appealed to stakeholders to avail themselves for the programme by visiting the wibsite what we are advising graduates to do is while waiting to be employ you have something to be doing so it is Avery strong scheme that will help alleviate poverty in the country.

We have been going from door to doors for organizations to come and register but none have indicated interest to be effective  president Goodluck Jonathan vision on SURE-P  there’s need for more employers .

The Chairman SURE-P Dr Christopher Kolade ,CON commended the determination of the present administration to achieve measurable improvement in the lives of Nigerians ,as subsidy on the importation of petroleum products was removed in 2012 following federal government a lot of impact have been achieve toward poverty eradication.

Represented by programme coordinator Mr Colet Ifeanyi ,he noted that the SURE-P which comprises of a wide range of intervention programme has 2 main component of infrastructure development projects (such as; Niger Delta development projects, Road and bridges ,rail transport, FERMA preventive Roads maintenance projects ) and the social safety net.

He stressed that the graduates internship scheme is aimed at providing Nigerian graduates with quality temporary work experience that will make them stronger candidates for job opening in the Labour market through a one year internship placement .

We also reduce the vulnerability of unemployment graduates by building manpower base towards attaining national development ,he said.

kolade explained further ,unemployment individuals whose qualification range from Higher Diploma and university graduates who have completed their compulsory National Youth service Corp or were exempted are eligible.
