As part of their efforts in improving lives of the people especially in the South East- South South States of Nigeria, the leadership of the Niger-Delta Development Commission,NDDC,was on Thursday, 15th August, 2019,officially flagged off a 1.8 Kilometer Road at the premises of the Imo State University, IMSU,Owerri,Imo State.
Speaking, the Contractor of the Road Project, Chief Isaac Wonwu,who is the Managing Director of Wesley Engineering Company Nigeria Limited,expressed satisfaction to be fully committed towards offering to the University a very standard roads in the state’s higher institution.
He said the ongoing road projects might come in phases,mostly to tackle the worsen and bad road-sites in the varsity, which would last for future generations.
Chief Wonwu, while speaking revealed that NDDC have awarded contracts particularly in the states of the South East.
Those from NDDC present during the flag off ceremony includes:” Mr.Tony Okanne,Head of Project, Monitoring and Supervision, Barr.Emmanuel Ezeobi Isiofor, Engr.Nnamdi Ezeifedi,Project Monitoring Engineer.
In her words, the Vice Chancellor of IMSU, Prof.Mrs.Adaobi Victoria Obasi,thanked NDDC management for their continues remembering IMSU for the 4th time in different kinds of laudable projects.
She therefore commended the Commission for their assistance, even as she appealed for more projects.
IMSU VC,Prof.Obasi, however applauded the students of the University in character and learning, even as she described her students as leaders of tomorrow and future leaders of the country.
