The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) is finalizing preparations for the 2024 Main Pilgrimage exercise to the Holy Land. The pilgrimage is scheduled to begin on December 22, 2024, with the first batch of pilgrims departing from Lagos.

To ensure a seamless exercise, the Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, recently visited Israel and Jordan for a state of readiness assessment. During the visit, he held strategic meetings with key stakeholders in Israel, including officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tourism, and Border Control.

Bishop Adegbite also engaged in high-level discussions with Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister, Yariv Levin, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel, Mrs. Agatha Afoekelu. The meetings focused on fostering collaboration to enhance the pilgrimage experience for Nigerian pilgrims.

During his time in Jerusalem, Bishop Adegbite visited the Wailing Wall, where he offered prayers for Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the success of the 2024 Pilgrimage exercise, and the well-being of the NCPC Board and staff.

The NCPC remains committed to providing a spiritually enriching and well-organized pilgrimage for all participants. Pilgrims from Lagos State will lead this year’s exercise as they embark on the journey to the Holy Land next week.
