The Zonal Director, Abuja Zonal office of the National Broadcasting Commission, Francisca Àiyetan has commiserated with the Executive Director of Freeze F.M 99.9 Lafia, Dr Nawani Aboki over the demolition of his radio station.
Aiyetan stated this when she visit the premises of the destroyed private media outfit situated along shendam road, while assessing the affected facilities and structures opined that the private outfit did not breach the laid down rules of NBC.
She called on people of Lafia and the state to accord their maximum support to Freeze F.M 99.9, insisted that the radio station should not be off-air since the station is fully licensed by the regulatory body.
“As a regulatory body we are not only concerned with issuance of license but also standing firm for employees that are victimized by proprietor of a media outlet talk less of demolishing a radio station”.
“The essence of a media outlet is to effect change in every society, saying the station is lawfully established by law”.
“Humanly speaking I’m feeling what happens and the station can’t stop airing it programmes”.
The Zonal Director said the NBC would accord support to the station, the team from the regulatory body include the Director, Enforcement and Investigation and amongst other top management team.
The Executive Director, Dr.Nawani Aboki said the state government has no reason to demolish the radio station, saying he has all that it required for operating a radio station.
Muhammadu Ikushunta sympathizes with the Executive Director over the demolition, expressed displeasure over the sporadic gun shoot aired on air by security agents.
