National Association Of Proprietors Of Private Schools Nasarawa, Storms Education Ministry ,Protest Arrest Of Karu, Keffi Council Chairmen Over Tax

Members of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools ,Nasarawa State wing has storm the premises to protest over multiple tax and arrest by the Chairmen of Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas.
The spoke person, the Vice President, Hon.Boniface Iournombe who spoke on behalf of the State President, Charity Solomon Manchuche disclosed that
there members were humiliated and arrested by the Chairmen of Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas for no reasons.
Calling on the state government to intervene by disengaging the Services of consultants and tax force.
Boniface while stating the reason why they visit the Hon. Commissioner , Ahmed Aliyu Tijjani at his office affirmed that the consultants make the neighboring Local Government’s unfavorable to proprietor.
“The ministry divided the state into groups and Karu which was under Urban area we are charged N50,000 in 2016 but after the inauguration of the current Chairmen 3 months after Karu/Keffi constituted a tax force”
Boniface Iournombe said there members were arrested while others drag to court.
“What authorities of Local Government said whether a proprietor have approval he must pay operational permit which was illegally hiked from N7000,N14,000 to N100,000 to N150,000”.
“We can’t pay more than what we cannot generate
Boniface asserted that the Chairmen of Karu and Keffi drag our members to court.
NAPPS accused Local Governments for the issuance of Illegal receipts.
He commended Jigawa state government for conducting them.
“I was the Commissioner but I was not informed by anybody about the arrangements you had”.
Saying the ministry will do all possible best to tackle the ugly situation at hand.
He faulted the proprietors for the delay in the payment of their levies.
He advised them to be law abiding citizens, urging them to do the right thing.
