The Management of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia has called on students of the institution to shun any form of social vices that may tarnish their reputation.


He gave the warning during the 2019-2020 Orientation/Matriculation held at the weekend, The Acting Rector, Augustine Ali Gabu represented by the School librarian, Mr. Peter Odeh said106 were matriculated for HND, 206 for PRE HND, 303 Diploma.

He tasked the matriculating Students to cultivate and display exemplary character in addition to the academic goal the students want to attain in the Polytechnic.


Stating that the combination of good academic achievement and good character will make them the future leaders Nigeria needs.


The Acting Rector warned all students to shun social vices that may truncate their stay in the institution, saying the authority would not fold it arms watching some students playing pranks with people’s lives.


He further maintained that the Polytechnic is willing and ready to work tirelessly to elevate the school to higher standards.


He explained that the Polytechnic is poised to ensuring that all the programmes that are run by the institution reflect the relevant needs of the states manpower.


The management applauded the Chairman Governing Council led by His Royal Highness, Dr.Sani Mohammed Bako !! , The Emir of Karshi for adding value to the Polytechnic.


He urged students to report cases of any group of miscreant tormenting students or causing havoc to facilities within the school environment.
