Nasarawa Varsity Strike: ASUU Faults Nasarawa Government Over Breach Of Agreement

The chairman of the Academic Staff Union of University, Nasarawa State University, Keffi Theophilous Daniel Lagi has blamed the state Government for lack of clear cut statement over the demands of the Union.

Speaking with Journalists shortly after a closed door meeting between stakeholders in the education sector with the state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, ASUU faulted the State Government for breaching of agreement in the past.

Addressing cross section of Journalists, Lagi said the strike action would end pending when the State Government makes a clear-cut commitment before the union would resolve the differences.

The Union Leadership faulted the state Government over breach of agreement, saying no end in sight until their demands were fulfilled ,Daniel Lagi expressed displeasure over the way and manner the demands suffers a series of breach of agreement by the Government.

He listed some of the demands to include, the review of the University law, the review of promotion guideline and the Academic Allowances to staff.

Lagi said ASUU is meeting with the Governing Council in the shortest time to proffer solutions to the ongoing strike.
