Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission  Fixes October 6 For Nasarawa Council Election-Chairman

The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed October 6, 2021, for the conduct of Local Government elections.

 

The Chairman, Bar. Ayuba Wandai Usman disclosed this during a press conference held at the Democracy House.

 

He averred that the election of Chairmanship and that of Councillorship would hold in the 147 electoral wards of the state.

 

Bar.Aliyu Wandai Usman said the release of the election timetable is timely while considering the 90 says notice to political parties

 

The electoral umpire said the election would not hold in the newly created polling units by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

 

He further explained that a total of N669,770,705,0.75 was approved for the conduct of the Local Government Council election.

 

Bar.Wandai, in addition, said the Commission lifted the ban on the political campaigns from today to October 5,2021.

 

According to him, the Commission kick-started its activities starting with today’s announcement, which marks the lifting of the ban on the campaign.

 

Adding that October 18, 2021, was for the conduct of party primaries while October 27, 2021, for the submission of forms and September 2, 2021 publication of a list of candidates.

 

Stating further that all political activities close on October 5, 2021,a day before the election.
