Nasarawa State Govt To Upgrade Sports Academy-Deputy Governor Declares

Nasarawa State Deputy governor, Silas Agara said the state government in a concerted effort to reinvigorate sporting activities in the state has taken a bold towards the upgrading of facilities at the state sport Academy situated in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

Agara stated this while declaring open the maiden Education Sector Games “FEDUGAM Lafia 2017.the Deputy Governor said the rejuvenation of the academy would take effect from June-July 2018.

Adding that the government of Nasarawa state has domesticated secondary school sports with an aimed of discovering young and hidden talents.

He declared that the sport ministry would continue to work assiduously with the ministry of education by unlocking hidden talents in our schools.

Calling on the affluent in the state to contributes and invest towards the development of sport.

The Minister Of Education, Adamu Adamu applauded the government of Nasarawa state for hosting the game, saying FEDUGAM was organized to promote cordial and harmonious relationship, he in addition maintained that the education sector has play a pivotal role in promoting sporting activities.

“The education sector remains the prime contributors for the development of sports “.

The Permanent Secretary, ministry of education, Architect. Sonny Ochono said the objectives of the game were to foster unity, friendship and synergy, promote physical and mental fitness as well to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship.

He further uncovered that FEDUGAM game is an opportunity to tap hidden talents.

Urging the athletes to shun winning at all cost and thanked the organizers for their immense contribution
