The Government of Nasarawa State has expressed its determination to Partner the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi to better the health needs of the people.
Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura stated this when the Newly Appointed Governing Council Board Members of Federal Medical Centre paid him a courtesy call in Lafia.
The government said it would continue to support the center has helped in addressing referral cases from the various General Hospitals in the state.
Appealing to FMC to establish outreach centers in other Local Government Areas to cater for the health needs of people outside Keffi.
Al-Makura explained that there is need for more tertiary health facilities in other parts of the state to adequately address the health needs of the people.
My government has donated a newly built structure to Federal University Lafia as teaching hospital.
“With the level of Consultant Physician in FMC, you can afford to operate centres in other parts,” he added.
Prince Sule Ikwo, Chairman of Governing Council of FMC expressed gratitude to the Governor for various interventions to the hospital while soliciting for more support to enable them continue to serve the public.
