Nasarawa Rec To Sanction Corrupt Staff, Warned Against The Distribution of Voters’ Card by Proxy By Rabiu Omaku,Lafia
The resident Electoral Commissioner, Nasarawa state has warned all of its personnel assigned staff to shun the distribution of permanent voter’s card (PVC ) by proxy or face the consequences of their temerity, The resident electoral commissioner, Ahmed Makama gave the disclosure during a press briefing held today at the state headquarter of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Makama warned its staff of conceded to pressure by politicians, saying any of its personnel that does that do it at his own risk,”No collection of PVC by representation, He further notified.
The resident Electoral commissioner averred that the commission in a concerted effort to ensure that all eligible voters in the crisis prone zone of Lafia East,Obi and parts of Keana would collect their PVC at receiving desk in their Local Government headquarters.
He however said people of Daddere, A Gwandara settlement that was ravaged recent by the lingering crisis would receive their PVC at the Daddere,The headquarter of the Daddere Development Area.
Other flash point was Tudun Odubu, He said electorates from Tudun Odubu in Obi Local Government would collect their PCV at a receiving desk in Lafia,He described those areas as a deserted areas .
The commissioner also attested that no corps members were posted to trouble areas of Obi, Awe and Keana, He added that corps members were engaged from Lafia to complement the exercise.
Makama speaking on security arrangement, He maintained that the commission and all the security outfit are working paripasu to ensure the security of lives and properties during the exercise.
The commissioner, Independent National Electoral commission challenge politicians (political party not named) for spreading rumor tantamount to destroy the commission, He gave the hint during a stakeholders meeting held at the commissions headquarter last week.
Makama cautioned politicians in the state not to involved themselves in the campaign of calumny.
