Wise men says is not over until is over as the rift over the hijacking of ward Congress of the People’s Democratic Party in Nasarawa State has taken another dimension as aggrevied members instituted a legal action against the State executive restraining them from conducting Local Government Congress.
The Court in Nasarawa state, sitting at Akwanga, has restrained the Peoples Democratic Party from conducting local government congresses scheduled to hold on March 21, 2020.
In a suit number NSD/AKW.6/2020 and made available to Journalists,filed by Idris Jidde and 14 others against the Chairman of the Party as first respondent and the Party as second respondent respectively challenging the ward congresses.
The applicants are challenging the non-conduct of the exercise of March 7, 2020, that no such congresses took place in Nasarawa state.
Justice Ramat had ordered the PDP that status quo be maintained by staying all action in relation to the subject matter or claim of the plaintiffs’ suit pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction filed in the suit.
The judge held that, “After hearing the submission of Ishaka M. Dikko Esq. counsel to the plaintiffs/applicants and the facts containing, it is hereby ordered that all the reliefs sought are hereby granted pending the determination of motion on notice.
