Nasarawa PDP Chairmanship Legal Battle: A Mere Distraction To Stop Them From Attending National Convention- PDP Counsel

Counsel to the Nasarawa state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Ocha Ulegede has described the ongoing legal tussle between the party chairman, Hon Francis Orogu and Mohammed Tanko as a mere distraction to hoodwinked the chairman from attending the just concluded national convention of the party.

Ulegede in an interview shortly after the adjournment of the sitting said the court order is a complete hand work of opposition party, the counsel to the PDP also affirmed that the processes of filing the matter was faulty.

“It was targeted to prevent the chairman from attending the party convention, Ocha Ulegede said the PDP in Nasarawa state is not in any conflict”.

The reaction of Ulegede followed an address by the Judge, Justice John Vikko saying that the party has witnessed a relative peace.

While counsel to the embattled chairman, Mohammed Sarki Tanko , Barrister Abdullahi Ubandoma in a swift reaction averred that sky would be the starting point, there is no point objecting to the two application granted them by themselves.

The Judge, Justice John Vikki of high Court two Lafia granted the two prayers ,the substantive chairman of the PDP.

  1. That the chairman should stop parading himself as the chairman pending the determination of the motion on notice.
  2. That the secretariat of the PDP should be locked pending the determination of this court.

Vikko adjourned the matter to the 23 Friday, 2017,There was jubilation outside the court premises and the party secretariat along Jos road.
