Comrade Dogo Shammah, the Nasarawa State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has tasked the newly sworn members of the state council to be steadfast and committed in the discharge of the responsibility bestowed on them.

The chairman hinted this while inaugurating the Secretary, Financial Secretary, and Auditor in a bye-election.

Comrade Shammah thanked members of the Union for their cooperation during and after the election as he said impetus would be accorded to capacity building of members.

He in addition said capacity building of members would serve as a morale boaster to practioners, those sworn in at the bye-election of the NUJ are Usman Musa elected unopposed as Secretary of the state council.

Audu Iliya scores 49 votes against his opponent Al-Iman Umar who score 6 votes and Audu Iliya was return elected as the Financial Secretary.

Other persons sworn in are Abari Solomon was elected unopposed as the Auditor,Jibrin Kalid and Is a Apawo were nominated as ex-official, the election witnessed low turnout of members.

Recalled that in the last two weeks a new crop of state executive emerged, they are Comrade Dogo Shammah as chairman of the state council while Juliana Ofoku as the Vice chairman.

Other crop of executive are Godwin Agwam was elected unopposed as the Assistant Secretary and Daniel Musa elected unopposed as the Treasurer respectively.
