Nasarawa NSCDC On Red Alert During Christmas/New Year Celebration

The Nasarawa State Command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), has engaged the services of 2000 volunteers in addition to its 1, 800 officers in order to boost security in Nasarawa during the Christmas celebration.

Lawan Bashir-Kano the Nasarawa State Commandant of NSCDC disclosed this to Newsmen on their level of preparedness for the yuletide celebration on Saturday in Lafia the state capital.

The commandant explained that the state command was directed by the Headquarters to pay adequate attention to flash point areas with high security risk.

He added that the command would also carry out special patrol to areas that are prone to Fulani Herdsmen/Farmers crisis. He further said the command’s medical and disaster response team have been placed on standby to respond to any emergency during the Christmas period.

He also assured members of the public of the corps determination more than ever to respond promptly to any intelligent reports and act timely in order to avoid damage of any kind.

Appealing to the public to be more vigilant and cooperate with the corps and feed them with information about any suspicious person, movement or activities for prompt action.

Bashir Kano therefore urged members of the public to use this period for sober reflection and pray for the peace and development of the state and the entire country.
