Nasarawa JUSUN Election: Accusation of Contestants, Leading Members Manifested As Hired Thugs Scarce Voters With Gunshots

The complaints raised by the leading faction of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter,, on the ill motive of the National President and the immediate past Chairman of the State Chapter to disrupt the election slated for Saturday 1, August, 2027, without a venue have manifested.

The series of complaints raised by the leading contestants about the tentative venue has ignited suspicion by those against the camp of the immediate past Chairman, Jimoh Musa faction, backed up by the national President, Mustapha Marwan,, as alleged by members of the Association.

The venue of the election, which was resisted by the majority of JUSUN  members working in the State capital, Lafia was manifested yesterday as mercenaries attacked both aspirants and their supporters at the venue of the High Court, Akwanga.

The High Court in Akwanga was turned rowdy as mercenaries, scared aspirants, and their supporters with gunfires,, which lasted for over thirty minutes. Some hired thugs, whom some eyewitnesses attested not to be JUSUN members, pelted the venue with dangerous weapons like machetes, daggers etc.

While some of the aspirants who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that the hired mercenaries destroyed the windscreen of one of the contestants.

An insider said the leading faction decried the lack of security at Akwanga venue of the election which was the game plan of the Immediate past  State Chairman of JUSUN, Jimoh M.

The national President of JUSUN, Mustapha Marwan, during an interview recently denied his involvement as he declined further comment, directing the Nasarawa State Correspondent to contact the State executive of JUSUN.

It was gathered that no single security operatives were present at the venue of the election to protect members as it was in the State capital,it was gathered that the present executive whose tenure just expired yesterday (Saturday) were dissolved and a caretaker committee set up.
