Nasarawa Govt Adopts President Buhari’s Treasury Single Account

As the economy bites harder due to the fall in oil price, Nasarawa state Governor ,Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has tasked heads of tertiary institutions in the state to key into the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account.

The state commissioner of Finance, Dr. Dominic Bako stated this during a meeting with heads of tertiary Institutions in the state; He averred that TSA would block leakages in all tertiary institutions in the state.

He disclosed that the concept must be adopted in all tertiary institutions as well extended to ministries, boards and parastatals, He further said TSA was geared towards addressing the current economic crunch that has bedevilled the nation.

Finance commissioner buttressed that the Treasury Single Account was to addressed the fall in oil price, Saying receipts from all sorts of revenue would be used into TSA.

Dr. Bako reiterated that the policy would carry everybody along, Adding that policy is good for heads of schools to key into the new policy of the Federal Government.

The spokesperson of the tertiary institutions, Dr.Silas Gyar lauded the state Government for her pragmatic approach by consulting heads of tertiary institutions before keying into the TSA.

The state Government set up a technical committee comprises of the state commissioner of Finance as the chairman, others are commissioner of health, Daniel Iya and commissioner of Budget. Dr. Uthman Ibrahim.

others are Permanent secretary of Budget and Planning, Finance, Auditor General ,Senior Special Assistant on Banking relation ,Ahmed Mohammed and chairman Board of Internal  Revenue, Usman Okposhi as members.
