The Nasarawa State Commissioner,  Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Princess Dr. Margaret Elayo, who also serves as the State Chairperson of the Steering Committee for Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), pointed out the undeniable significance of technology in today’s society.

She made this observation during the handover of Information Communication Technology  (ICT) equipment under the Nasarawa State ACReSAL project to both the College of Agriculture and Technology in Lafia, as well as the Ministry of Humanitarian and Women Affairs on Wednesday.

Dr. Elayo noted that one of the most phenomenal advancements of the 21st century is the rapid transformation brought about by ICT innovations, which have effectively connected the world into a global village.

This digitalization trend has paved the way for digital governance and a smart economy on a large scale.

To ensure Nasarawa State aligns with contemporary digital trends, the ACReSAL project, under the leadership of Dr. Elayo, has commenced the distribution of ICT equipment to various Government agencies, ministries, and higher education institutions.

This initiative aims to promote e-learning and enhance digital governance, as highlighted by Dr Margaret Elayo.

Dr. Elayo urged the recipients of the ICT equipment to utilize these tools responsibly to broaden their knowledge and enhance their technical skills.

She celebrated the remarkable guidance and unwavering support of Governor Abdullahi Sule to the successes of the Agro-climatic Resilience in the Semi-Arid landscape initiative in Nasarawa State.

“His commitment to integrating modern techniques with traditional practices is positioning Nasarawa State prominently on the global map”, she noted.
