Nasarawa Deputy Governor’s Aides, Driver, Others Show Symptoms Of Coronavirus, As Schools Resume Today

Three hours after Nasarawa State Government declared the resumption of both public and private schools, no fewer than Nineteen staff of the office of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe were asked to go on self-isolation.

 

Those directed to go on self-isolation include the Deputy Governor’s Aides, Driver, Others who according to available information showed symptoms of the pandemic.

 

The majority of schools have resumed but are not abiding by the COVID-19 protocol of social distancing.

 

School resumption was coming at a time the prevalence of the second wave of coronavirus pandemic was increasing at a high pace.

 

It could be recalled that the total number of people who tested positive for the covid-19 stands at 1,421, cases recorded in two weeks.

 

The ardent question is, are our schools safe for resumption? Can students abide by the COVID-19 Social distancing?.

 

What happened to our hostels which are congested, can our people go about with their normal business without using facemask ?.

 

The Director of Public health, Dr. Ibarhim Adamu in an interview explained that 1,421 people in the state are COVID-19 positive.

It could be recalled that the state Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism following the sudden symptoms of the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading to the closure of the ministry barely for four weeks as the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Phoebe Angbazo was tested positive. Others that went on self-isolation also include the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Honorable Dogo Shamah.
