- I have no regret over my action
Professor Muhammadu Mainoma, the Vice chancellor of the Nasarawa State University has given reasons why he resisted the last minute admission request by the State House of Assembly.
The Vice Chancellor said he has no regret for his action, a situation that necessitated a call for his suspension by the lawmakers; Mainoma opened the can of worms during an assessment tour embarked by the Nigeria Union of Journalists led by the State Chairman, Dan Yakubu.
Professor Mainoma averred that the lawmakers requested for chances after academic calendar has start for more than four weeks, saying the action of the members of the State Assembly will lead to prolong session as well distract the institution’s matriculation.
“NSUK only recognized one admission, adding that the late admissions placed the students on disadvantage position due to work load”.
The Assembly members come up with a position which includes; that all contract staff should be discharge from the institution. That desk office should be set up to scrutinized indigene certification of individual before gaining admission into the school.
Mainoma said the ten percent admission given to the members was as a result of interference of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (Jamb) and the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC).

The vice chancellor maintained that institution provided seven boreholes with the N20m doled out to the school by the then President ,Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with an aim of tackling acute shortage of water, he further attested that former minister of defense, Theophillous Danjuma constructed one million cubicle of overhead water tank.
NSUK Accepted The Transfer Of Ten UNIMAID Students
No fewer than ten students of University of Maiduguri were accepted by the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, the Vice Chancellor said their door is open to receive both students and lecturers willing to join the institution.

While BSC Taxation and Enterpreneurship studies are yet to be accredited
FACULTY OF LAW has full accreditation
FACULTY OF EDUCATION has six accredited programmes
FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE has four programmes but three were accredited
FACULTY OF SCIENCE is comprises of Science lab Technician is not due for accreditation
FACULTY OF ART got accreditation of six courses while English Language got entering accreditation.
Other challenges according to Mainoma was that the Head of Department HOD supposed to be in Theater Art not English
The Vice Chancellor said N57m was expended for the construction of a football court, Professor Mainoma affirmed that the effort was meant to take football to another level. He further asserted that the project was through needs assessment programme
RE-INSTITUTE ACADEMIC CULTURE
The vice chancellor said no academic lectures were held by his predecessor, he emphasized that two academic lectures were held simultaneously ,saying the institution did not approve results for the past four years, stating that approval from 2008 -2014 is ready.

On physical projects constructed, Professor Mainoma buttressed that construction work of faculty of Theater Art has been completed apart from other different ten projects at completion stage
He listed some of the challenges of the institutions to include the visibility of internet facility by the university.
