Nasarawa APC/PDP In War Of Words Over Attempt To Rig Next Month General Elections By Rabiu Omaku, Lafia
The People’s Democratic Party in Nasarawa state has debunked the accusations of planning to rig the forthcoming elections in the state by the All Progressives Congress as empty and baseless, The opposition party described the allegations as empty and the only strategy available to the APC in the state, calling on the ruling party in the state to embark on issue based campaign.
The party also dismissed the claims as hollow, fake and devotional stratagem coming from a pessimistic party whose only selling point now is to distort and engage the security agencies, the electorate and the general public from concentrating to obtain their PVC’s to end the APC tenancy of shendam road Government House.
“Instead of facing the electorates with issue based campaigns the way we are doing they prefer to feed the people ,some of which they helped displaced recently with empty allegations and now diverted the attention of the security agencies from doing the needful through with these fake allegations”.
This was contained in a press statement from the state secretariat of the PDP and made available to newsmen by the Public Relation Officer of the party, Honorable Mark Neto Yohana, However, for the record, The PDP want to make it abundantly clear that we have no microfinance outfit within our secretariat nor do we have a central Bank license to operates loans and grants scheme as was alleged by the APC chairman, Philip Shekwor in his recent press statement in Lafia.
“Mr.Shekwor, a retired civil servant should be in a better position to know his state control party and we in the opposition party, who has the statutory mandate of dishing out loans to the people the APC has impoverished in the past three and half years, However we in the PDP are aware of the inactions of the ruling party in the state, But gladly,it can’t escape the wraths of the voters come next month”.
The PDP said the opposition party has no access to the Independent National Electoral Commission PVC’s and its data base to even think of assuaging with the forthcoming elections, The opposition party dissociate itself from the unsubstantiated allegations of the APC stage managed activities of the so-called Pro Jonathan group, Jonathan Shall Lead Again Movement, JOSLAM and their purported arrest by the police,.
The PDP called on the police investigators to unravel the true identity and sponsors of the unidentified crusade. The Nasarawa state police command has confirmed the arrested of husband and Wife over illegal acquisition of permanent Voters’ card, The state Police Public Relation Officer, Ugochukwu Theodore has said.
The PPRO in an interview at the force headquarter revealed that the two were nab in possession of fourteen PVC’s and Three Temporary voters card, He hinted that the two were apprehended in Lafia, The state capital.
Theodore opined that they had since been transferred to the Criminal Investigation for interrogation, speaking on the allegation of possession of PVC’s as alleged by the ruling party, The PPRO said is not aware of the accusation.
