The state chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress,Philip Shekwor has lashed the opposition party,the People’s Democratic Party for imposition of candidates on the electorate during election, saying the PDP lacks internal democracy.
The chairman started this when an aspirant for the office of the Federal House of Representatives under the banner of the party representing Toto/Nasarawa Federal constituency,Isa Ari (shettiman Nasarawa) picked his nomination and expression of interest forms at the party headquarters along Shendam road.
Shekwor in his words said; “we will not impose candidates on electorate like the PDP ,In APC as he said Justice remain the fortress of the party”,the state chairman added.
The State chairman of the party also dissociated any alliance between the state Governor or executives of the party and all the contestants ahead of the party primaries into the vacant Federal House of Representatives following the demise of the occupant,Hon.Musa Owana who died recently.
“Either the state Governor or the executives of the party has anointed candidate,Philip Shekwor cautioned contestants to shun blackmail,violence and campaign of calumny during and after elections.
” Is not a period of one to exhaust his enemies ,He in addition said the primary election is an in-house contest”,Adding that the big fight is the secondary election ahead, he advised politicians to the play politics according to the rules.
The state chairman averred that the ruling party has the upper hand to clinch Toto/Nasarawa Federal constituency seat,he also advised the aspirants not to override the ongoing campaign with bitterness.
The state secretary of the party,Aliyu Bello challenged contestants into key positions in the party not to forsake the party that made them to be what they are,Saying the action of some representatives of the party is uncalled for.
“APC is like a moving vehicle that carry everybody along, but to our greatest dismay people elected under the platform of this party are found of disappearing into thin air after assuming office”.
Isa Ari (shettiman Nasarawa) says he joined Toto/Nasarawa Federal constituency House of Representatives race to influence vibrant laws that would lot the plight of the people,Saying he was moved to vie the seat so as to put his experince to bear.
” To ensure good Governance as well effect positive change ,the contestant commended the current regime for addressing the insecurity that bedevilled the nation,Isa Ari also applauded the ruling party for fighting corruption to a halt,describing the effort of the incumbent administration as rightful quest at the right direction.
Isa Ari (Shettiman Nasarawa) promised to abide by party rules at all times,he also cautioned the party to temper justice with mercy in the choice of candidate,” as he sued for neutrality,accountability and transparency in the conduct of primary elections.
The shettiman Nasarawa,Isa Ari was a graduate of Government Secondary School,Nasarawa,University of Maiduguri,ABU Zaria,Havard University and lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic,Nasarawa.
Other positions, he was a staff of Education Board,Federal Capital Territory,Abuja,he also worked with the economic planning,Abuja, Other key positions he held are that he was a Special Adviser to Sen.Abubakar Sodangi,chairman senate committee on FCT,Internal affairs.
