National-Association-of-Nigerian-Students-NANSDear Readers, I am sorry for my inconsistent in giving you the weekly series on the NANS Presidential Aspirants, last weekend, I was very busy on some of the issues in Nasarawa State. But frankly, I am back again to feed with the last news about NANS.

Last week I was with one of the former President of NANS, the Jagaban and illuminati of NANS, Yinka Dada Jp Sadam Jp, MNC, in the course of our discussion he opined that “I have no any other political party than NANS, in fact, as an active member of PDP, ordinary House of Assembly Ticket in Ekiti State, they denied me that I am too wise they said, as such, I will always stick to NANS as a life member. That will a topic for another day.

Today, I present to you one of those that have used the platform of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to get to the top in the Nigeria politics, Hon. Comrade Chuks Favour Obele , Former National Treasurer of NANS and presently aspiring for NANS Presidency from UniZik, Anambra State.

For records purpose, as a Treasurer of NANS he restored the Students’ Union Government of the School of Health Science, Amaigbo, Imo State and initiated the popular NANS Zone ‘B’ Welfare Bus in Anambra State, due to his capacity as the former Treasurer of NANS he was called upon by his constituency in Anambra State to contest for State House of Asembly. But unfortunately he lost out based on faction of the PDP in Anambra State.

I met one-on-one with Obele, I can say without any form of sentiment that he really mean for NANS as an organization, for the fact that, Obele is a Post Graduate Student of the UniZik and spent less than 10years in NANS has really qualified him that with his kind at the helm of affairs NANS will be great again. In fact, his manifestos is reach like that of PMB.

“If given the opportunity to serve NANS as the President, I will sponsor a bill where each and every Nigerian Student will be given the opportunity to work for at least two hours pay day” he said.

He explained further that, “The problem with Nigeria is lack of practical work, you would hardly see any Mechanical Engineers that knows how to work on any automobile, they depend so much on theoretical aspect of the engineering work, with the bill, the students would be self-reliance after graduation from the Schools and exposed to practical works”.

“My priority is to run a responsive leadership, to agitate 26% Education fund by UNESCO, to propose bill on ‘Compulsory 2hrs Student Work Aid Program’ to empowers students on professionalism, skill acquisitions, and self reliance, and to mobilize support from private and cooperate organization Laboratory and practice centre on campus” he added.

“I know the problem of the Nigerian Students, as such, I am the only person that will provide the needed solutions” he concluded. As a matter of fact, his wish may not be possible due to Nigeria factors, however, it is a right steps in the right direction.

The deposition of Hon. Comrade Chuks Obele Favour has really vindicated some us that opinion is cheap, truth is sacrosanct and fact is sacred, Nigerians Students are not fools and can not be deceived with mere promises that has day or time to be fulfilled.

For someone that has tested real politics outside the Students Unionism should give way for up coming generation like one of my friend and brother Comrade Okoye Robinson Chibuzo of UniZik to test his popularity and capacity in NANS in order to take the organization to the next level because I am not ready to recycled leaders in NANS.

If it were to be based on “sentiment and friendship” apologies to Comrade Chinonso Obasi AKA Aluta IBB for NANS President, I would have declare my total support for Obele for hosting me and one of my leader in Awka, the capital city of Anambra State sometime last year during our tour in the South-East of Nigeria.

To me as a person, Hon. Chuks Obele Favour is not the best thing for Nigerian Students and I will advised that he should withdraw from the race and face his normal business in Awka and Abuja.

The series will continue next week.
