As the verification exercise of the batch C applicant’s under the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) Program commenced nationwide last week Friday some Bauchi applicants begin to express worries and concerns over the uncertain date of the exercise in the state.
More than two thousand N-Power applicants who gathered today at the Multipurpose Sports Indoor Hall Complex venue of the verification exercise were left in confusion as a result of the absence of state officials at the venue to talk to them about what is happening on the program in the state.
According to some of the applicants interviewed at the venue said that the exercise was supposed to hold on Friday last week and was postponed to today, Monday, but still, nothing is going on, and no official from the state office is present here at the venue.
While others were complaining that some top government officials and politicians were planning to hijack the exercise in favour of their candidate.
Bukar Samari an N-Teach applicant’s from Bogoro LGA said he has been coming to the Multipurpose since Friday last week and he has spent more than three thousand on transportation and feeding, still, he has not achieved anything.
Aisha Ibrahim, an N-Health applicant’s also lamented that she has come to the venue since the date indicated in the N-power platform, and she has spent up to one thousand five hundred Naira from last Friday to date.
When contacted the media officer in the agency Hajiya Aisha Bamai revealed that the postponement was due to some technical challenges, as well as some arrangements with the agency to enable its schedule the applicant’s into groups with a date for each category to ease conjunction during the exercise,
Adding that arrangements have been concluded and the exercise will commence tomorrow unfailingly at all the 20 local government areas in the state
Accordingly, an announcement through radio is going on to inform the applicants of the new date. And also notice has been pasted in 5 different locations at each of the local government secretariats, local government education authority, N-Power office in Bauchi as well as all the selected venues in 20 local government areas respectively.
