Muslim Students Appeal  To UNIJOS ASUU To Call Off Strike

unijosMuslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Plateau State Area Unit has called on the management and Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) of University of Jos to resolve their impasse and call off the ongoing strike.

University of Jos branch of ASUU has two weeks ago commenced an indefinite strike over disagreement on entitlements of its members with the management of the university.

Speaking at the inauguration of MSS new executive in the state, MSSN State Chairman of the unit, Ustaz Muhammad Shamsuddin who made the call yesterday in Jos said that the strike action would negatively affects the academic activities of students of the institution.

Shamsuddin said, “This strike action is an internal crisis that affects only university of Jos.

The session has already gone and it would retard the students back, therefore we are appealing to the Uni-Jos ASUU and the management of University to resolved their differences in the interest peace and development of education in our state and country”.

He frowned at the increase of connivance of teachers and parents in exam malpractice and charged principals and proprietors to check and stop the menace, adding, “MSS in the state would commenced an orientation against exam malpractice in our secondary schools that are grooming half beck post primary graduate. We must all join hands with all relevant agencies to fight this menace in order to save the future of our students”.
