More Trouble For Impeached Plateau Speaker Peter Azi As His Sister Theresa Azi Plans To Contest Against Him

The former sole administrator of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state, Hon Theresa Daniel Azi has said there is nothing wrong for her to contest the same position with the brother, Rt. Hon Peter Ajang Azi the immediate impeached Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.

 

Hon Theresa has declared her intention to contest for the position of the member representing Jos North /West constituency in the forthcoming election in Plateau State on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

 

Addressing supporters opposite Gidan Bege orphanage home, Jos North LGA she reels her achievement to her supporters while serving as the management committee Chairperson.

 

She said her decision was informed by the current sufferings of the people within the 20 wards arising from bad leadership, drug addiction, youth restiveness and the return of internal hatred amongst peace-loving citizens of Jos.

 

According to her, she reiterated her determination to embark on people-oriented projects, adding, the poor state of infrastructure and squalor in Jos North and West communities, that if left unabated would jeopardize the future of the people as well as their children yet unborn.

 

The APC chieftain said she decided to contest to “save the people of Jos north, West constituency from this agony and squalor”, adding that she could not fold her arms and watch the people continue to suffer untold hardship.

 

Azi hinted that the leadership of Governor Simon Lalong had witness accelerated development.

 

She stressed that as a former Chairperson of the area, she would use her wealth of experience and exposure to mobilize the people of Jos for development if given the mandate, promising to run a transparent leadership.

 

Azi urged Women to the strive more for elective positions so as to increase women active participation in politics to address men domination.

 

She frowned at the present position of men of the eighth assembly where only one female is a member out of the 24 members of the State House.
