The Embattled National Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has disowned the Plateau PDP of Senator Ahmed Makarfi camp led by Hon Damishi Sango as he dissolved the executives after irregularities that marred the party’s state chapter election.
The Spokesperson of the Senator Sheriff Camp, the state PRO, Hon Emmanuel Macham expressed confidence that they are ready to go with the Sheriff’s camp to move the state chapter forward.
He said ,our National Chairman dissolved the Congress of the former minister, Damishi Sango after the ill-fated state Congress that produced him as the state chapter chairman where some of the aggrieved members registered their displeasures with the manner they inflated figures of the party delegates to over 1000 which only 750 were accredited for the voting exercise.
Macham disclosed that information available to Sheriff shows that they’re planning mass defections in Plateau state chapter of the PDP faction.
“When our authentic Chairman, Hon Gyang Badung was planning to recognize the Makarfi aggrieved members for peaceful reconciliation, they opted to drag the matter to Court so we are left with no option than to sack them completely.
He debunked speculations going on that the Sheriff Camp has never had party structure at the wards and local government areas, which he said is just the imagination of mischief makers; “but we want to put the record straight that our membership cuts across the 17 local governments with most of the stakeholders including founding fathers who are behind us.
He employed all the aggrieved members of PDP to remain committed to Sheriff Camp which is working hard to ensure the return of the party to the people; we are ready give back people oriented programs to the grassroots.
According to him, PDP is prepared to win the forthcoming Local Governments election.
We are highly disappointed where there are no elected local government areas chairmen in Plateau State even after two years of the APC government of Lalong.
