More Aspirants Pick PDP Nomination Forms In Plateau By Yakubu Wuyep,Jos
More than 60 Aspirants in Plateau state have picked nomination forms to join the race of various positions .
The former Permanent Secretary, Security in Plateau State ,Mr. Istifanus Gyang has picked the PDP nomination form for Barkin Ladi /Riyom Federal House of representative race in 2015.
Mr Gyang, who was being presented with the nomination form by scores of his supporters from Barkin Ladi /Riyom at his residence in Rayfield the Plateau state capital , where he expressed confidence of delivery dividends of democracy to his people if elected.
He stated that his decision to join the contest , was informed by the level of poor representation of the zone, by the incumbent member.
He explained that the collective existence of Nigeria as a corporate entity is currently being threatened by insurgency except courageous Nigerians to come together to wrestle the country and preserve it for the younger generation.
According to him, picking his nomination is an expression of his interest to contribute to the growth and advancement of Nigeria ,adding, every patriotic citizen must work hard to ensure that Nigeria remain as one.
He pointed out that “Nigeria is at a critical juncture and two critical issues require attention. The challenge of nationhood and nation building. Nigeria is currently threatened and our collective existence is at stake.
“It is time for courageous leaders to rise and join hands to curb the threat by insurgency trying to tear the country apart. Nigeria must remain one nation and for a strong nation, we must work together to ensure it”,he said.
He further stressed that “Nigeria has no business being a third world nation and since legislation is a critical foundation for good governance, I will do my best to contribute to good governance.”
The aspirant assured the people of his constituency he will do his best to put an end to the recurring attacks in the two local government areas which he is likely to represent.
While warning against all manner of electoral fraud or manipulation by the ruling PDP during the general election, Okoloagu, said 2015, would not be business as usual.
According to him, “I am in the race again, because change is imminent in Enugu North senatorial district, in 2015″
The time he said, has come for the Igbo people to rise up and say no to imposition of political leaders, which he added was responsible for the alarming rate of under-development in the land, especially Enugu state.
He,therefore, urged the Igbo nation to embrace the APC wind of change currently blowing across Nigeria, adding that it was the only political platform that could take Igbos to the promise land.
