Ministerial Briefing: Gov. Umo Eno Has Brought Business Attitude To Governance – Chief Nduese Essien

The Political leader of Eket Senatorial District, Chief Nduese Essien has bared his mind at the end of a 3-day ministerial briefing, which held at the banquet hall of the Government House, Uyo, saying, it was a unique idea, and this has not been done in any state of the federation.

He commended Governor Umo Eno for coming up with the concept, for getting the people to know what is happening, and to make contributions. “It goes a long way to show that, he has brought in business attitude to governance,” Chief Nduese Essien expressed his satisfaction on the briefing, and charged ministries to live up to expectations.

Within a few years, this initiative will change government business for the better. There was much laxity and inefficiency, in the running of government business.

To bring out key staff to render the report for stakeholders to tell them where they have gone wrong, will send a signal to everyone in government to sit up, I commend the Governor and encourage him to keep it up.

It is therefore not surprising, that other Governors in the country have found him worthy, to be nominated for the best Governor of the year award. I congratulate the Governor on the achievements.

The Former Minister suggested that, the ministerial briefing, should be a bi-annual event. The first should be before the budget is presented, so that whatever is the outcome, will be incorporated into the budget, while the mid year briefing should be to assess the performance so far and show them direction on where to introduce improvements.

Chief Nduese Essien further commended the Governor on his initiative to organize a town hall meeting in the 10 Federal Constituencies in the state, and stated that, it will be beneficial to the people as much as the ministerial briefing.

This idea is going nearer to the people, to hear their problems and expectations, which is a meeting they look forward to, he stated.

He described the proposed sports academy in Eket, as an adjunct of the stadium, which is a welcome development and appealed to the Governor for more projects for Eket, so it can take off with other areas, and be completed alongside in the administration.
