A group of youths in plateau state under the aegis of Save Plateau Forum has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint former Senator representing Plateau south and a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, John Shagaya as Minister whenever he constitutes his cabinet.
The national coordinator of the group, David Pontel , made the call in Jos the Plateau state capital ,yesterday in a press statement he signed.
The group called on stakeholders of the party to ensure emergence of credible candidate in the like of Mr Shagaya in the state.
Pontel said ” Shagaya has a large support base from all parts of the Federal constituency in the state and would run a Youth friendly government , carry along all tribes in the state as well as fight corruption in line with President Buhari,s stand on corruption.
“We are confident that if appointed he would perform credibly well like he did in the senate , as Minister of Interior and all through his Military career.
He stressed that the people of the state led by Shagaya did a lot to ensure the emergence of Buhari as president and victory for the All Progressive Party APC in the state , stressing that he moblized people of the state to deliver votes to the APC in the last general elections across the federation.
“Shagaya has the potential of transforming any sector that he is made minister and played a role by coordinating the state APC to victory when he was Interim Chairman of the Party”
“He has proven to be a Patriotic , decent and experienced in governance ” Shagaya is hard working , knowledgeable and committed to whatever duty he is given ” he further added.
