Middle Belt Group’s Secretary General Charges President Buhari To Sign The Electoral Act Into Law

The National Secretary of the Middle Belt Indigenous Tribes of North-Central Nigeria, Hon Bobdike Alaku has said that President. Muhammadu Buhari is not a sincere leader with his numerous excuses on the electoral law which he has benefited from both the direct and indirect primaries in 2015 and 2019.
Hon Bobddike in an interview with our medium on the long delay of President Buhari refusal to assent to the electoral law said, it is quite disturbing that in politics the government themselves are not sincere in some aspect on the electoral law which is supposed to be signed by Mr. President, even with all these excuses he gave, he is a beneficiary of the direct and indirect primaries when he came in 2015 it was through indirect primaries that gave him the victory.
According to him, his second tenure was done through the direct primary that gave him his victory, why is he talking that the direct primary is costly, because when emphasizing on the indirect is for the higher bidders that cost more as they would use money to hijack the delegates.
Hon Bobdike explained further that the direct primary is the best option which is just like that of the 1993 zero party primary which is called option A4 during the zero party, so it has gotten to the issue of signing the electoral act into law and the Nigeria government begins to complain.
He lamented that the excuses given by Mr. President lacks merit and don’t hold water, “the national assembly, they have the power if he, Mr. President refuses to sign the electoral act into law and by implications President Muhammadu Buhari is trying draw our Nigeria democracy backward because of this singular act of his refusal to append his assent.”
Hon Alaku disclosed that it is almost four times and if I were him the President I won’t mind, I will sign it into law to avoid embracement, if Mr. president does this singular act the credit would go back to him and he won’t be forgotten in this great country.”
He stressed that, “I don’t know where the advice given by the Attorney General of the Federation to the President on this came from, this is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and he knows the implications when INEC has agreed that they have the capacity to transmit all the results, then why are they bringing the issue of some local governments that they don’t have networks which is only 74 out of 744 nationwide.”
He pointed out that the Turaya phones promised to provide the same networks through their own handset, sometimes they said no network which is understandable but that it is not late to provide all LGAs with the network before the end of 2022.
The Secretary General of the Middle Belt Forum, commended the National President of the forum Dr Bitrus Pogu for his visionary leadership of ensuring the safety of all the middle belt assembly.
He described the middle belt people as the most peace loving people with a lot of enemies encroaching into their ancestral farmlands, maiming, and killing the natives.
Hon Bobdike cautioned against the farmers, herders clash while adding that that the people of the middle belt are peace loving Nigerians but are constantly attacked by those who want to claim their farmlands .
