Members Of Nasarawa United Football Club Accuses Chairman Of Running Club As Personal Property

The dwindling fortunes of Nasarawa United Football Club owned by the state government, has been attributed to the highhandedness of its chairman Barrister Isaac Danladi who runs the club as his personal property.

A member of the club’s board who craved anonymity told sportswriters in Lafia that the chairman has taken over functions of other members.

According to him he operates as media, welfare, technical and team manager among others which has breed bad blood in the club.

He said the chairman only calls to address members instead of seeking their contributions and assured that the board will seek clarification on allegations raised over the clubs missing N25m soon.

He lamented the greed exhibited by Bar. Danladi who operates as secretary of the state water board, chairman of Nasarawa Utd, chairman of football clubs in Nigeria and one that carries out functions of other members.

While calling on Government to sustain its support to the club, the member made a case for reorganisation of the managements of both the male(Nasarawa United) and female (Nasarawa Amazon’s) Clubs for improved performance, He said.

It would be recalled that the club was recently accused of defrauding the state govt of N25 million LMC grants that were said to have dropped in the chairman Zenith bank account.

All effort to speak to the chairman hit bricks wall as he refused to respond to calls made to his mobile phone.
