Member Representing Awe, Doma, Keana Federal Constituency Constructs 8 Classroom Blocks, Donates 5 Transformers
- Secured employment for 70 youths at the Federal level
Honorable Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo (PDP) in a frantic step to give back to the society the core value of democracy as well to enhance a generational change and to move the standard of education to an enviable heigth as invested millions of naira for the construction of eight (8) classroom blocks cut across schools in Doma community.
Ogoshi Onawo hinted this during a thank you visit to the people of Doma over his victory at the poll as well his landslide victory at the Election Petition Tribunal and appeal court recently,He affirmed that his emergence as the representative of his people mark a paradigm shift in the history of politics in Awe,Doma,Keana.
The Honorable member averred that he embarked on the construction of eight classroom block in Doma which include construction of three classroom block and furniture with toilets at GSS Doma north ,Three block of classroom with furniture and toilet at RCM primary school Doma, Construction of two classroom block at GSS Okpagose, Building of vocational /Information and Communication Centre (ICT) in Doma.
The federal lawmaker said his educational foundation, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo Educational Foundation (MONEF) also provide succour (scholarship) to medical students as well secured admission to scores at the Nasarawa State University,Keffi,He however said would sponsor 320 students for free West African Examination Council free registrations in Awe,Keana ,Doma federal constituency
He averred that one hundred (100) each would benefit from his kind gesture in Awe and Keana while one hundred and twenty (120) from Doma. He said no few than seventy (70) students benefited from his olive branches of free WAEC registeration in 2014 when he was the speaker of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly bringing the number of beneficiaries to approximately 400.
While unveiling some of his success stories maintained that scores also benefited from his empowerment scheme which include given appointment to individual at the federal level, He further listed the beneficiaries cut across all strata of his constituency .
“In the last four years at the national Assembly not less than twenty individuals were employed under me in Doma excluding Awe and Keana bringing the number to seventy “,He added that 310 youth and women were empowered in different skills, Other areas also include his free Medicare which has been existing since 2014.
He promised to create a window of opportunity for able youth in his constituency, describing the strings of achievement as a modest achievement ,Saying he want to leave an indelible mark on the sands of time as he remind a member representing Awe,Keana,Doma, Ogoshi Onawo expressed concerned over the way and manner exhibited by youth in the area of youth empowerment, He expressed worried over the manner youth trained on different skills abandoned their training.
“Our youths are not ready to be self-reliant, many of them sold their tools for something different, He thanked the people of his constituency for the unflinching support given to him during his electioneering campaign. His holistic approach in the area of electricity includes the installations of 200KVA transformer along Mathew Akwe residence,300KVA transformer at Millionaires quarters off Lafia-Doma road,300KVA transformer at Ipugigu and 200KVA transformer behind St John Bosco College as well provision of 20 stand of solar street light covering Angwan Kasa and Rutu road.
In the area of water supply, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo buttressed that nine communities benefited from his hands of fellowship,He affirmed that all the projects has been completed in the following communities includes Community based water supply with solar stand at Akpanaja,Community based water supply with solar stand at General Hospital Doma,and Hand pumps constructed and completed at Yelwa Ediya,Igbabo,Idadu,Okpata,Omundu,Angwa Uku,Alwaza and Wednesday Market.
Other concerted effort also includes trained over Forty (40) youth and Women in basic trade skills via SMEDA, trained over fifty (50)Doma youth in assembling and repairing of tricycle/motorcycle via national automotive Council Abuja held at Vocational and relevant Technology Doma.In addition he asserted that he also extend his hands of fellowship through the provision of free medical services tag ” Onawo medical mission, Assured his people that another round of free eye treatment is on underway.
His Royal Highness, The Andoma of Doma Ahmadu Aliyu Oga has appealed to the member federal House of representative, Honourable Muhammed Ogoshi Onawo to carry everybody within his constituency along by spreading projects across Keana,Doma,Awe ,The paramount ruler gave the hint when the member House of representative paid him a visit at his palace.
The royal father commended the member for exhibiting an examplary leadership qualities to the people, Ahmadu Aliyu Oga called on youths in the state to put more effort in moving Doma community to an enviable height.
The chairman of People’s Democratic Party,Alh Mallam Sarkin Noma during the commissioning of a stand solar borehole at Wednesday Market applauded the member for his commitment and doggedness in constructing a borehole to the people of Doma community.
A staunch member of the PDP, Mathew Akwe described the achievements recorded as voluminous, Saying the current member House of representative has done a lot for the wellbeing of people of his constituency, He appealed to the member to lobby for the construction of Doma-Rutu-Keffi road, Saying the road if constructed will open a new vista of opportunity for Doma youths, He also appealed to the federal lawmaker to lobby for the sitting of tertiary institution in the community, Onawo was also conferred with a traditional title of Barayan Keana by the Osana of Keana, Emmanuel Onyatikpu Elayo for his immense contribution, He also commissioned town hall in Awe including other projects.
The gathering witnessed a mammoth crowd cut across the three Local Governments of the federal constituency.
