The former minister of Information, Labaran Maku has said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remains the only party that would salvage the country from bad governance from president to local government council.
The Director General, Atiku Abubakar and David Emmanuel Ombugadu campaign council revealed this while briefing Journalists on the kick start of the PDP campaign in Nasarawa state.
Maku sympathizers with Nigerians over the economic hardship the people are passing through, saying unless Nigerians shine their eyes and elect good governance before hardship cripple them.
While in Nasarawa state, Labaran Maku described 2023: election as a year of reckoning, adding that everybody has felt and is still feeling the consequences of voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Challenging the press to remain firm by doing their work in spite of intimidation and humiliation by the power that has been.
“Thank God, with our team of social media we can dish out information to our people to know what is happening in the state.
“This, not the right time for us as a party to embark on a campaign of calumny but is a time we will be campaigning on issues based, a campaign of good governance,”
He said the PDP has a landmark achievement to display as legacies bequeath to the people and the generation yet unborn in the history of Nasarawa state of our dreams.
“I’m on the ground since the creation of the state, our campaign will be focused on the reign of APC from 2011 to date, we will ask questions, what are the records of APC under Al-Makura and Sule”.
He however opined that insecurity remains the major preponderance of the common man in the village, saying the PDP will ensure that people go back to their farms.
“I repeat again, our campaign as a party will be violence-free, our campaign will be more of exchange of ideas, we have a governorship candidate who is more qualify, is Emmanuel Ombugadu”.
The chairman of the party, Hon Francis Orogu said the party is ready to relocate governor Abdullahi Sule to Saudi Arabia come the 2023 election.
“We will replace Engineer Abdullahi Sule with a more focused candidate, Ombugadu”.
Orogu said the party I optimistic for a landslide victory, saying electing PDP will ensure and enhance checks ad and balances in Government House, Lafia.
“I’m the happiest person in Nasarawa state because we don’t have a single court like the one in Nasarawa APC, where everyday candidates are losing hope in the party”.
Saying the PDP is not a cut and joint arrangement but rather a well-planned arrangement by the broad spectrum populace.
He explained that the party will do everything possible to resist any attempt by governor Abdullahi Sule.
The governorship candidate of the party, David Emmanuel Ombugadu, in his speech said is prepared for governance describing Sule as the non-performing governor.
Giving the people of Karu a new lease on life, he affirmed that if given the mandate he will exploit the untapped internally Generated revenue of Karu to develop the state.
“Is not rocket science, instead Karu will be the cash cow of the state, he further said he will within the shortest time address the gridlock in Karu faced by civil servants”.
The Director of General Media, Mike Omeri averred that the party will not leave any stone unturned.
