Maitama Sule Urges The President-Elect To Tackle Corruption First

YusufMaitamaSuleThe former Ambassador and first Minister in the first Republic, Alh. Maitama Sule has urged Nigeria President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that corruption is been tackle first.

He explained further the country will not disintegrate inspite of numerous challenges the country is going through.

Maitama who was speaking in Jos as the Quest speaker during a lecture organized in honoured of Governor-elect Barrister Simon Bako Lalong yesterday .

He said that people expected that this country would disintegrate due wide agitation from local and international community the country still remain one ,so we are calling on the new government to ensure that they all meet the need and aspiration of the masses who voted them into office.

Maitama Sule went down memory lane to give countdown on the central background of series of crises the country witnessed since first Republic ,Second and the third Republic which the country is still suffering from the problem.

He appealed Nigerians to embrace change and stressed change can only be possible if the people has the mind set of accepting this change.

Sule called on the people of Plateau state to give the incoming administration their maximum cooperation to the state forward.

According to him, Nigeria ,India and Brazil were one those third world countries which was support to embrace technological revolution which Nigeria failed to reach.

But he ,however, noted that Brazil and India are the country we are celebrating their achievement in medicine and Agriculture among others.

The governor-elect disclosed that the outgoing administration has created chiefdoms which is not acceptable as there are more pressing issues facing the people, we may not want unnecessary burden to the incoming government  .

Lalong also emphasized on the challenges facing the civil servants in the state and promised to tackle the issue effectively.
