Magu Tasks Media On Transparency

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu,  has called on the media to continue to partner with the Commission in the fight against corrupt practices in Nigeria by being transparent in their reportage.

 

Magu, who spoke through  Mr. Aminu Ado Aliyu,  Abuja Zonal Head of the EFCC,  made the call on Wednesday,  June 17, 2020, at a Press Briefing marking  the 2020 Democracy Day.

 

Aliyu used the opportunity to highlight the achievements that the Zone has recorded in its nineteen months of existence. “Out of 704 petitions, the zone made 314 arrests based on intelligence and merit.  67 of these have been charged to court.

 

Highlighting the successful collaboration of the Zone  with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, Aliyu  said it had greatly helped in curbing the activities of cyber criminals in the country.
