The appeal court sitting in the federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja has reserved the judgement of the federal high court, Lafia nullifying the primary election for Nasarawa west senatorial district.
The winner of the November 2, 2022, primary election, Arc.Ahmed Tukur, it could be recalled filed a case at the appeal court in Makurdi.
The presiding Judge, Hon Justice M. A Danjuma upheld the judgement of FHC, Lafia nullifying the primary election of Nasarawa west that brought Arc Shehu Tukur as the 2023 general election.
Hon Justice Danjuma said the parties will be notified by the appeal court sitting in Abuja, Counsel to the ruling party, the All-Progressives Congress (APC).
The counsel to Arc. Shehu Tukur, the senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Damian Dodo, shortly after the verdict of the appeal court in an interview with newsmen at the court premises affirmed that the reservation of FHC, Lafia Judgement by the appeal court is a way forward for the judiciary.
Bar.Umar Gali , the appellant counsel to Bar.Labaran Magaji says the sky is a starting point for his counsel with the upheld of the judgement by the FHC, court.
Other Judges in the appeal court, are Hon.Biobele Abraham George will and Hon I.w Jauro.
It could be recalled that the federal high court sitting in Lafia on November 2 nullified the election that brought Arc Shehu Tukur as the sole winner of the APC primary election held at the matriculation square of the Nasarawa state University, Keffi.
