A Fulani under the aegis Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN) National President, Alh Sale Bayari has vehemently rejected the position of the southwest Governors reached with Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, on Monday in Akure by distancing themselves completely from the peace pact agreement.

In a press release made available to journalists in Jos, Bayari says, our attention has been drawn to the position of the southwest Governors and the Miyetti Allah, MACBAN, at Akure where some far-reaching decisions were taken and agreed on.

He said, “the GAN Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria, GAFDAN, another umbrella association, fully registered, within the extant lands of the federal republic of Nigeria here on behalf of its officials,B.O.T , Patrons, members, wish to completely and entirely disassociate ourselves from the position of the southwest Governors and the MACBAN”.

According to him,” as a law-abiding association and its members, we shall not go into any unlawful unconstitutional and repressive agreement with any governor, president or governments, without reference to the ground norm law of our country which is the constitution “.

He pointed out that it is this law that established the GAFDAN as well as MACBAN as voluntary, independent bodies that can sue and be sued as corporate bodies.

Bayari, therefore, says under our laws, one can’t speak for others and their members .therefore, MACBAN as voluntary independent bodies that can sue and be sued as corporate bodied under our laws can’t speak for others and their members, therefore, MACBAN can’t and is not qualify to speak for GAFDAN and her members who are herdsmen in either Ondo state or the entire southwest.

GAFDAN, he says having noticed the wholesale disturbing, betraying position of the MACBAN in the entire process called its national executive meeting in Jos and came up with the following positions, resolutions.

1 that MACBAN is not a Nigerian constitution decreed body for Nigerian herdsmen but a voluntary one, created under the corporate affairs commission, CAC, as an incorporated trustee body which membership or otherwise is entirely discretionary.

2 That both the Governors and the MACBAN didn’t have the consent, authority, or approval of our association or members as herders to go into any such contract or agreement, on issues bothering our members’ lives and means of their livelihood of cattle rearing as Nigerians.

3 That MACBAN and the southwest Governors didn’t seek consult nor receive our approval to engage our association and its members in this deal.

4 That we shall not be seen to be parties to this illegality, contracted between a group of Governors and one association that Governors conceded nothing to ,maybe, except through the settlement of such leaders financially.

5 That all our members should be exempted and be completely isolated from the agreement that GAFDAN was not a party and to go about their normal grazing activities within the space the Nigeria laws allow.

6 That all Nigerians should note that GAFDAN does not condone any criminal activities within its members and therefore, all criminal elements must be fished out and brought to book.

7 That we urge our members in the southwest to resist any temptation to break any law and order but to identify themselves not as members of MACBAN but GAFDAN that ate not part of this deal.

8 That GAFDAN shall protect, defend any of its law-abiding members whose right would be abuse by the singular, unilateral conspiracy action of these Governors sand their cash and carry boys in MACBAN .

9 That it appears obvious that our heads showed in our absence and we have the right to disassociate more especially, as there was nothing these Governors conceded to us as GAFDAN or MACBAN for the sake of peace and order except that MACBAN surrendered everything to the anti-grazing,anti-Fulani irredentist and their agents.
