Lumumba Admonishes Plateau Not To Be In Hurry To Assess Lalong  Performance

The roadmap to the 2023 Governorship race for Plateau State, Hon.Lumumba Adah Adeh , has admonished people that they should not be in a hurry to access our political party and our governor when he still has one and half years to introduce projects that touched the lives of citizens.

He said, well as you are aware the politics of 2023 in Plateau might differ from what we saw in the 2019 general election because there is no picture of the incumbency on the ballot side and that is the more reason why there are so many aspirants who are warming up to take over the seat of government of Plateau state also follow by other positions that is why you can see posters of various aspirants littering the streets.

According to him, the successor of Governor Simon Bako Lalong largely depends and rests with the electorate to make the right choice of someone with integrity to deliver on the people’s mandate.

He said that the issue of zoning or rotation is not only in Plateau State, but across the 36 states of Nigeria, which is gradually enhancing the development of democracy in the country.

However, for now, nobody can say where the pendulum will swing.

The former member Representing Bassa /Jos North federal constituency in the Federal House of Representative, and aspirant at just held Jos North /Bassa federal constituency 2022 bye-election of the federal house of representatives, Honourable Lumumba Dah Adeh condemned those criticising   Governor Bako Lalong over British America fly over the project that is a belated project, are those blindfolded by realities of infrastructure development which Lalong administration is working hard to sustain.

He disclosed that when people are complaining that they are passing through hardship, there should be no development going so that the money for the project will be shared with them, is that what they want? Or what, the Governor was elected for a 4-year tenure and until his tenure expired, he is at liberty to start any project he wants, in case those detractors don’t know government is continuity.

He added that when the next government comes on the ground they can finish it, the most important question people should ask themselves is the viability of the project and if the project is viable will improve the lives of the people, Is this what the people want if you ask me as a professional engineer, I will say yes, that project is long overdue considering the rate of accident and gross traffic holdup on that road, it is going to serve many purposes, especially for those commuters who pass through Jos to the states in the North East particularly Gombe, Bauchi, and Borno .

“The governor has taken an oath for 4 years in office till the expiration of his tenure for that, which will terminate May 2023, this administration is very much in control and the work continues.

The former member of the Federal House of Representatives at the National assembly stated this in an interview with journalists.

The Sarkin Yakin Irigwe said those saying the British America interchange flyover project is is belated should know that the project is very important for the economic development of the state because it is the only road that leads the whole of North East, and at the same time, it will help to ease the hardships commuters suffer in the morning and evening at the metropolis during rush hours occasion by gridlock.

He stressed those waggling their tongue, are saying what is not their business, abandoned their main responsibility and concentrate on government business, should have preferred the governor carry the funds met for the development of the state and shared it with individuals.

He advised those in the habit of castigating the governor for just nothing but to score a cheap political point, to desist and use their precious time for productive things that will be of benefit to them, instead of spending their energy in criticizing the governor which is not their business.

On why he still remains in the All Progressives Congress (APC) , even when he contested an election under the platform and forces in the party worked against him, he said decamping from parties to parties is a matter of morality and conscience, if you have moral whatever that happened, you will persevere because there is light at the end of every tunnel. So when you have morals and conscience, you will not be jumping from one party to another.

He further predicted rancor free from the conduct of APC convention slated 26th March 2022 in Abuja the nation capital, contrary to predictions of some pessimists who are waiting for the disunity of the party.

“APC will conduct her much expected National Convention slated for 26th March 2022 and put all the pessimists to shame, what is happening in the party is expected in every ruling party that is as big as APC.” he maintained.

He debunked the insinuations that people are decamping from the party to the opposition PDP, because of the internal crisis in the APC, and her probability of producing the next president in the 2023 General Election, honourable Lumumba APC stakeholder in the state frowned at the insinuation which he described as baseless.

“Decamping is constitutionally allowed in Nigeria politics unless there is an amendment of the constitution to that effect, as people are decamping from APC, also people are decamping from PDP, so is laughable if some people are saying the contrary, APC is a party to beat in the 2023 general election.”

He stressed that the candidates contesting for the National chairmanship of the party are all eminently qualified and is their constitutional right to contest, and in a viral democratic environment, you will expect what is playing out now, which is a heated political space, which I did not expect anybody to misinterpret differently.

Hon.Lumumba advised those contesting for any National Position of the party to play the election according to the rules of the party because APC is one family and we cannot afford any over the quest for power to divide us as a family, the election will come and gone, we will still remain as party family.
