LP Candidate For Rerun, Gyang Zi Urges Plateau North To  Vote For Him For Integrity

Yakubu Busari

A renowned legal practitioner in Plateau State, the Plateau North Senatorial candidate for Labour Party,(LP) Barr. Gyang Zi has assured the electorate of his desire to deliver the dividends of democracy if allowed to serve them in the forthcoming rerun scheduled to be held in January 2024.

Gyang Zi made this known during an interactive session with the media in Jos.

He said,” The judgment clearly explained that INEC was not supported to include PDP in the 2023 ballot papers because they’ve flaunted the repeated congresses that rendered them without structure.

If INEC erroneously included the PDP in the rerun exercise that might lead to the repeated calamity of what has been happening except for another political parties who have participated in 2023, especially those old candidates in the judgment are allowed to participate in the rerun because the PDP candidates are all disqualified completely from the race.

According to him,” I want the voters in Plateau State to understand something that I have been saying time without number with due respect to my senior brother, Dr. Simon Mwadkon whose election was nullified by the Appeal Court, I was talking to him when I filed the petition.

He is my elder brother why should I want him to be removed as a senator? I was forced to address people that he is not in the contest because I did it in good faith that approach is not in bad faith,” he explained.

Gyang called on the people of Plateau North to come out en-mass and vote for him as the only candidate with experience, pedigrees, and exposure to provide them with dividends of democracy if given the mandate.

He disclosed that he served his people very well and he has been obedient to the people of Plateau North so as an obedient child I consulted very well before I picked the ticket of the Labour Party and I assume that I shall emerge the winner with a landslide victory.

Zi stressed, “I have already approached major stakeholders both in PDP and LP including other relevant key stakeholders seeking their support because what I’m going for is critical not only for the position but for the development of the state.

He promised to schedule an in-house meeting with Dr Simon  Mwadkon whom he strongly believes is going to throw weight behind the project.

Gyang Zi called on all the citizens to ensure that they’re not discouraged by the outcome of the Appeal Court judgement that nullified the PDP candidates, we shouldn’t attach negative things let us overcome political differences reminding them it is just a platform where candidates sell themselves and their manifesto.

He said, most of my electioneering campaigns are on issues base and Plateau North has a lot to benefit from me so I urge you to vote for the candidate of your choice and preferably me.

As a practicing lawyer, I have trained myself in the area of accommodating diversity and promoting mutual respect and I have learned a lot so I employ politicians to eschew politics of bitterness and violence-free exercise, he added.

Gyang Zi pointed out that he is the sole candidate for Labour Party in the rerun exercise in 2024 because the purported one Salisu Adamu Abdullahi was never in the contest as he withdrew in July 2022 after that we filed the necessary documents and Congress was conducted at St Murumba College where we had a hitch-free election.
