  • Says That The Stealing Of His SUV Were Politically Motivated

Hon. John Akans, the Plateau State Publicity Secretary of the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that he has no doubt that his Toyota 4runner SUV was stolen recently by thieves, who were allegedly politically motivated.

The spokesman of the PDP in the state, who stated this during a sympathy visit of the Management of REALITY Newspaper, led by its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Prince Valentine Adese and the Chairman of REALITY Chapel, Mr. Alfred Saiki to his office in Jos, said he wondered why the thieves refused to dump the documents in the car anywhere, “if the documents and my personal effects are also not beneficial  to them.”

Hon. Akans, also alleged that he is seeing a monkey hand in the issue of his stolen car because, before the incident, he has been receiving threats from the state Governor Simon Bako Lalong and the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state over open accusations he made concerning them.

Hon. John Akans in part said: “I have been receiving threats from the State Governor, Simon Lalong and the Chairman of the ruling APC, Hon. Letep over the exposures I made concerning them and they have been sending threats of dragging me to court.

“I believe those who stole the car and have not dumped or returned my documents and other effects in the car have something in connection with these threats. I believe the thieves must have thought I have the documents to prove my case in the car and that is why I still feel the act of stealing the car up to this moment that it has not been discovered is still political than mere theft.

“Funny enough, I saw the thieves coming after me from Solomon Lar Amusement Park but, luckily, I drove by my house and parked somewhere else before they came to the car. I thank God for that wisdom because that was how my life was saved.

“I have gone round with the police at Rantya in Lowcost but we have found nothing. My statement is at the police state as I speak”

Attempts to reach the Chairman of the APC, Hon. Letep Dabang over the disclosure and allegation and to get his reaction failed, as a visit to his office, he was not on a seat and his mobile line could not be reached, as it was put off during the calls.

However, in another strange development, the office of the APC chapter was burgled by yet to be identified people during the weekend.

REALITY gathered that newly donated Television sets, sent by a well-wisher of the party to the office have been stolen.

This according to information has led to the posting or armed security operatives to the APC office today after complaints to the security operatives in the state.
