As part ensuring that the expected rural development gets to the grassroots for economic wellbeing of Imo people under the Rebuild Mission led administration of Gov.Emeka Ihedioha, the Interim Management Committee, IMC,Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA,Hon.Canice Ugo Mba,has shown a very strong capacity as a leader.
Our reporter who visited Nwaorie-ubi (the LG Council Headquarters of Mbaitoli),obviously witnessed so many visible ongoing projects in the area,courtesy of the Transition Committee Chairman of Mbaitoli, Hon.Ugo Mba,whom some workers in the Local Govt.during a swift media chat described as a nation rebuilder,a bridge builder and a human capacity developer sent by God through the Governor to serve Mbaitoli as a servant-leader.
Speaking to some cross section of newsmen in his office, the TC Chairman, Hon.Mba,expressed satisfaction and boldness that Mbaitoli LGA under his watch must be rebuild.
“I am very happy that I am owing worker (LG staff) any salary. I usually pay them promptly and as at when due. I am not owing any staff of the council any dime. As a matter of fact,I have embarked on so many projects in the LG tagged ” One Ward,One Project”. It is ongoing now in all the 12 electoral wards in Mbaitoli,including the LGA Secretariat and the Stadium,still ongoing. The monthly allocation for the council is not for sharing,rather is for the general development of Mbaitoli”,he submitted.
“For some of my political detractors, I am poised,ready and mandated bury their on shame. The APC’s ruled and governed Imo State for good eight (8) years, yet nothing tangible to be recorded. My opposition members and some of my political enemies are afraid because of all my achievements with a very short period of time in office. They have all failed. I am very passionate towards rebuilding Mbaitoli”, he boasted.
The Mbaitoli Council Boss,Mba,while speaking enumerated some of his developmental achievements and giant strides from across the 12 wards in the area,which includes:” the Rehabilitation of Solar Powered Water Supply Scheme at Eziama Ezinihitte Mbieri, the Rehabilitation of solar powered water supply scheme at Umuduru, the Re-roofing/renovation school hall/class room blocks of Community Sec. Sch.Okwu in Ogbaku, Re-roofing/renovation of class room blocks at Umuagwu Mbieri,and the Completion/construction of six (6) class room blocks of Comprehensive Sec.Sch.Ofekata Orodo.
Other achievements are: Construction of New blocks of two (2) class room blocks and two (2) offices at the Comprehensive Sec. Sch.Idem Ogwa, Re-roofing of four (4) workshops and three (3) offices at Comprehensive Sec.Sch.Re-roofing/renovation of Primary Health Center Afara in Eziama, Re-roofing/renovation of Owere-Nkalu Primary Health Center Ifekala,Construction of well steel elevated tower reservoir and installation of Orie-Ama-Igwe water supply scheme at Umunoha, Rehabilitation of Nkwo-Ubomiri solar powered water supply scheme at Ishi-Ubomiri, Construction of the Mini- Stadium for Mbaitoli LG Secretariat at Nwaorie-Ubi and the Construction of New Secretariat block for Mbaitoli LG at Nwaorie-Ubi”.
More so, the Ogbaku-Born-Grassroot-Politician,Hon.Ugo,disclosed that he would never let Ndi-Mbaitoli down nor ever disappoint them but promised to make them proud at all time.
He therefore thanked the Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, for his appointment,even as he commended the state government for bring back IROMA.
He assured the people of Mbaitoli of effective security of lives and properties especially as the yuletide is fast approaching.
“I am happy that Mbaitoli got about six (6) roads that was captured in the recent Rural Roads Project, RAMP, in Imo State”, Mba noted.
Finally, the Mbaitoli Council Boss, therefore assured that with the free hands given to them (all the Council Chairmen) they will in no distant time fix all the rural roads in all the 27 LGA’s of Imo State.
