A member representing Gwaram Federal constituency of Jigawa State under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) Hon. Yuguda Hassan Kila had solicited for common understanding among the lawmakers in the National Assembly Abuja.
In an interview with Journalists in Abuja, Hon Gila said he wants the lawmakers to maintain a good relationship and mutual understanding in the House, for an emerging stronger legislature in the 8th Assembly that can carry out meaningful, effective laws and oversight function in the country. He added that the House has passed through a leadership crisis, even as he commended the way the leadership issue was resolved peacefully.
Hon. Kila, said the issue of legislature salary cut is an issue that will be looked into by the committee in the House, which they later bring out their reports to house for consideration and hope that the lawmakers will bring out a concrete decision over the matter.
The lawmaker assured Nigerians that the 8th Assembly will carry out it primary duties of making meaningful laws and strengthen oversight functions in order to move the nation economy forward. He added that very soon Nigerians will benefit from the dividends of democracy through a good plan and programme of the government.
Hon. Kila expressed worry over the high level of destruction of lives and properties in the North Eastern part of the country by insurgents, to this end he appealed for support and co-operation of Nigerians for the APC lead government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari in order to move the nation forward.
The lawmaker commended President Muhammadu Buhari over his administration determination in the fight against corruption and insurgency in the country in order to provide adequate security and employment to Nigerians.
